As you may be aware by now, recent tariff increases by the Trump administration have caused a significant amount of turmoil for retailers and manufacturers in the United States. While Hermle North America is an American based company with some clock manufacturing here in Amherst, Virginia, USA, our parent company, the world-renowned Hermle Uhren, has been based in Germany since it's founding in 1922. We continue the tradition of precision manufacturing of clock movements, parts, and fine clocks in our German facilities where a majority of our manufacturing takes place.
With our monthly shipments from Germany we are now seeing significant price increases with the new tariffs, and sadly are now forced to pass price increases on to our customers. We are hoping a deal can be struck between Germany and the USA that will allow us to re-adjust our prices accordingly in the near future.
From our President Chad Eby:
To Hermle Customers,
Hermle North America has avoided the implementation of tariff related price increase until now. With the last shipments we are forced to pass along the additional tariffs to our customers. We are in the process of reviewing the prices for all our products to determine the impact of the tariffs. For items that are Made in Germany only, we know the prices will increase by 10% because that is the additional tariff being applied to us. There are products in our finished clock line that may increase less than 10% if the product is made form a combination of German and USA made components.
All OEM orders will be charged 10% beginning May 20, 2025. We will be reviewing how to deal with products made in other countries later. We are planning to implement price increases for replacement movements, movement kits, parts and finished clocks starting June 1, 2025.
If deals are reached between the U.S. government and the EU or directly with Germany, we will adjust our pricing accordingly.
We apologize for any inconvenience or hardship this may cause.
- Chad Eby, President
Hermle North America
