Even in this hyper-digital age clockmaking continues unbroken as a grand horological tradition. In our culture analog clocks continue to be a symbol of calm focus, historical rootedness, timeless ingenuity, and creative craftsmanship - one part aesthetic vision, one part scientific achievement.
With humble beginnings by our founder, Franz Hermle, in Germany in 1922, Hermle has continued this clockmaking legacy as a family business, now in it's fourth generation. Expanding to the U.S. in 1976, Hermle North America is keeping the tradition alive in Amherst, Virginia with the manufacturing of grandfather clock, mantel and wall clock wooden cases.
Our recent announced partnership with NASCAR's Martinsville Speedway to produce their trophy grandfather clock brought local media to go behind the scenes to see the clock manufacturing process. Enjoy the video from WSET ABC 13: 'Inside The Making of A Grandfather Clock'!
